Interested in your statement "The detergent in the suggested mixture above helps to allow the bleach to get down to the roots of the mold." What detergent is that? If you're referring to the Amazon link you have labeled as "Commercial mold removal product" that doesn't bring me to a specific product, in fact many of the products that come up with that link aren't there to remove/stop mold but to just clean the stains they've left behind. There's a bunch in that list that also specify they're for non-porus surfaces. This, despite clicking the link you provided in the unfinished wood section.

If there's a couple different specific products you could recommend that would be great. I was going to go with bleach but would like to go deeper without adding more liquid.

Great information. But can you help with an outdoor problem? I have two painted wooden pillars on my front porch, which gets no sun at any time of the year. We have had mold in the past, but I cleaned it with a product said to be made for this problem and then repainted the pillars. The mold continued to grow under the paint and now can be seen through the paint. Is there anything I can do short of stripping the pillars completely?

Thanks for your help

Unfortunately my manager discovered black mold on the subfloor under the kitchen sink in a rental. He immediately sprayed it with pure chlorine bleach. Now I think we may have to remove the subfloor in that area as we should probably not add yet another chemical. What to do?

Some mold/mildew grew under a mattress that was directly on the floor, looks slightly ingrained. Want to try a commercial product first to try get as much of it out as possible....which ones are recommended for hardwood floors that have been finished? I'm in a apartment so I believe polyurethane has probably been used.
